Hold 'em Night - TOC for 2009

Hello folks. The big day is almost here. I wanted to send an email out to let everyone know the format. It’s a little different than we normally do it. We have our top ten players that qualified by playing in least 5 games, and finishing in the top ten in points. This time, neither the 10^th or 11^th place finisher could attend the TOC, so we invited the 12^th place finisher. We had a tie for 12^th, so we took the person who achieved that point total first. So our field is set.

It’ll be a 10 dollar buy in for everyone. Normal Texas Hold ‘em, with 25 minute blinds for the first 2 hours. Unlimited re-buys for the first 2 hours. After 2 hours, we’ll take a break, chip up, and you’ll have the opportunity re-buy or add-on. For each re-buy or add-on, for 10 dollars, you’ll get the normal 10,500 in chips.

As for the starting chip count, per the rules I posted in January of last year, the chip stacks are based on the percentage of the points lead. So the bottom finisher, will start with the minimum chips, 10,500. I’ve listed the starting stacks here. Important to remember, that if you re-buy or add-on, you only get 10,500.

We’ve taken 10 from the pot each game so the prize pool is already starting 120 plus the 100 from the initial buy ins. We’ll be paying 4 places.

Here’s what the payouts would be if there are no re-buys or add-ons.

1. 60.00% = $ 132.00

2. 25.00% = $ 55.00

3. 10.00% = $ 22.00

4. 5.00% = $ 11.00

That’s about it. Dana will be sending directions out shortly. Make sure to bring some snacks and/or beverages. I was trying to get Dana to provide Burger King. Not sure if that will happen. See you all tomorrow. If everyone arrives early, we’ll start early. Otherwise, we’ll draw for seats promptly at 6pm, and get started within 10 minutes of that. If you’re late by more than 5 minutes, we’ll have to blind you in.
